WRITOBER #25 - Blue Memory Allegory

Last minute collab! Something tells me this is not the last one, stay tuned! Fabio almost did this by request because I love blue and couln't let this work go. I've seen more of his work, I even have one with me and he is amazing! I'm expecting great things from his future, including a collab with me!

Apagaram as luzes atrás e trancaram as portas.

E chovia no dia.

Virava, passava a vista, virava. Ia ao fim, ia ao início. Suspirava. Bufava. E se não resultar? E se, e se.
A Gilass não era uma pessoa normal. Ela tinha ansiedade.

The library was closed. The power blackouts became frequent with lights, uninet and evrything going down. No one knew what was happening on the third level, but they knew their library card deserved better. Soon after they were led to the doors with apologies and promises of rewards. The lights were turned off and the doors were locked behind.

The AI was having fun. No more Ding and Bat, now it was an old sage, Merlin, from an on old animated movie. It was the only one having fun in that room. Gilass was bored out of her mind. What is a memory? There's a biological, psychological, philosophical and technological definition. A memory is a binder. We store sheets with days of our lives and the binder grows; we can pull sheets and forget due to traumas; we can mend with supportive rings and recover memories, thus we remember. We have dividers, post-its and plastic archives to organize memories into categories, each one more specific: birthdays, love, heartbreak, success, stories, experiences, pain or mundane memories such as finding credits in the street or a dog with brown spots on its fur, with the fatest owner imaginable. Oh, it was raining that day.
Each binder grows in unique ways. It varies with people and their predisposition to maintain a binder. Mental problems, education and drug abuse also affect a binder.

What if there's a place to store every folder? Mnemosyne. Mnemosyne it's the personification of Memory in Greek mythology. Daughter of Uranus and Gaea; mother to the nine Muses. All fathered by Zeus.
Doesn't matter where we go in space, we will always look back, but now it's necessary to look ahead - to the far universe, where the hidden planet was.
Neither Gilass nor the AI knew what would they find there, but the AI knew that the planet was found recently and they were hunting the human for some reason. It couldn't be just for her memory. There are more people with good memory, people with memory implants like real pen drives. There must be a good reason...
Gilass was an IT prodigy. She would memorize code, commands and instructions like no one would. Why? What if something goes wrong? What if, what if, what if...The AI noticed too. The human was always reading the same sheets on the binder. She would flip, look, flip. Skip to the end. Go back. Sighed. Puffed. What if doesn't work? What if, what if.
Gilass wasn't normal. She had anxiety. She was always thinking about something. Always revising memories and what happened. She always had a plan A, B, and C. She was not the goddess incarnated in this universe, she was only a sad bastard with a malfunctioning brain. And everything made sense.
The AI was just like her. Instead of projecting morning cartoons she carried huge binders with her. She remembered everything.
